Legoland Malaysia Resort today unveiled an exciting new-look City Stage, which will be the focal point of this year’s holiday season celebrations.
The City Stage, found at the LEGO City area of the popular family theme park, has been transformed into an indoor, fully air-conditioned theatre.
The enhancements carried out at the City Stage mean guests can now enjoy the entertaining shows and performances, created for the whole family, in a cooler and more comfortable indoor environment.
“We’ve given the City Stage a refreshing new look and feel, and we are delighted to have it ready in time for the festive season. Our new show has already started and has been getting great feedback from our guests,” said Mark Germyn, General Manager Legoland Malaysia Resort.
He added: “Legoland is all about bringing the family together and our Holiday Extravaganza celebrations promise a myriad of activities for everyone. From our show, to the LEGO tree lighting, to the Legoland advent calendar, there’s truly something for everyone at the Resort.”
The enhancements to the City Stage have been completed to coincide perfectly with the start of the school holiday period and the festive season. The Resort is the ideal Christmas holiday destination for families with children 2-12 years old. It brings together a Theme Park, Water Park and Hotel in one LEGO themed location.
As well as the rides, slides, shows and attractions, guests can enjoy a host of interactive festive activity during the Holiday Extravaganza at Legoland Malaysia Resort. The highlight of the Holiday Extravaganza this year will be a giant Legoland advent calendar installation.
The huge rectangular installation features 24 windows, one for each day of December leading up to Christmas day. Every evening at 6pm a lucky guest will have the chance to open a window and win the special prize hidden behind it.
Prizes that are sure to make the holidays even more special this year have been sponsored by Legoland Malaysia Resort’s partners. They include LEGO, Unilever, Maybank, Celcom, The Traders Hotel, LEGO, Thistle Hotel, Pulai Springs Resort and many more.
Adding to the festivities this year is the daily lighting ceremony of the LEGO Christmas tree. It is made from more than 400,000 LEGO DUPLO bricks and measures more than nine metres high. The tree is even covered with decorations made from LEGO bricks.
And for those who can’t wait for Santa to visit them, Legoland Malaysia has the perfect solution. Guests will be able to visit the LEGO Santa model, which has been created using more than 250,000 LEGO bricks. There are also many special festive treats happening around the Park including carol singers, mascot appearances and Christmas themed LEGO building activities.
Families can also purchase their holiday gifts at the retail outlets. A range of LEGO Christmas products are available at this time of the year. This includes items such as advent calendars, LEGO baubles, Santa sleigh sets, holiday t-shirts and much more.
The enhancements to the City Stage follow several other major developments at the Park this year. It is part of a commitment to continuously reinvest in the Park and enhance the experience for guests. In September, to mark the second anniversary of Legoland Malaysia Resort, the LEGO Star Wars™ Miniland model display was unveiled.
It is a fully air-conditioned indoor experience that showcases over 2,000 iconic LEGO Star Wars™ models and well-known scenes from all six episodes and the Star Wars™: The Clone Wars animated series. It is an amazing experience where the whole family can meet their favourite characters like Yoda, R2-D2, Darth Vader and the legendary Sith Lords, all made from LEGO bricks.
Based in Nusajaya, Johor, the region in southern Malaysia that is closest to Singapore, Legoland Malaysia Resort is easily accessible. It can be reached on a direct bus service from the Singapore Flyer run by WTS Travel. There are direct flights from Jakarta into Changi Singapore Airport as well as connectivity from cities such as Medan, Bandung and Surabaya into Senai International Airport in Johor. Those visiting from Kuala Lumpur can take advantage of a special Causeway Link bus service offering return day trips to Johor.
Currently Legoland Malaysia Resort is also offering a special Annual Pass promotion just for the holiday season with a Buy 3 get 1 Free Offer for both Standard and Premium Passes.
