πͺ Gold-bar promotion: check the mechanics before taking part
The Kota Kinabalu promotion confirms a chance to win a gold bar and advertises prizes up to RM15,000, but it does not confirm that the gold bar itself is worth RM15,000. The published material also does not specify the bar’s weight or brand, any minimum spend, the method of entry, the number of prizes or participation limits. The gold-bar picture is for illustration purposes only and T&Cs apply, so the latest official or on-site terms should be checked before making a purchase specifically to enter the promotion.

π Some of the featured book deals
The promotional previews give a taste of the titles and categories expected at the sale, ranging from bestselling fiction and puzzle books to colourful educational reads for younger children. Savings vary considerably among the showcased titles: the eight examples below work out to roughly 11% to 86% below their stated RRP, so the advertised up to 95% off should be read as a maximum rather than a typical discount across every book. The RRP figures are the reference prices printed in the promotion and should not automatically be taken as the usual selling price elsewhere. Highlighted examples include:
- Murdle Volume 2 by G.T. Karber – RM30.99 (RRP RM89.90)
- A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas – RM47.99 (RRP RM53.90)
- Tales from the Cafe by Toshikazu Kawaguchi, hardcover – RM44.99 (RRP RM109.90)
- I Want to Die but I Want to Eat Tteokbokki by Baek Sehee – RM47.99 (RRP RM65.90)
- CoComelon Feelings – RM6.00 (RRP RM41.90)
- Baby Shark: My First 100 Words – RM23.99 (RRP RM54.90)
- Usborne Book of the Body and How It Works, hardcover – RM35.99 (RRP RM77.90)
- The Housemaid’s Secret by Freida McFadden – RM30.99 (RRP RM64.90)
Featured publishers shown in the event material include HarperCollins, Penguin Random House, Usborne, Little Tiger, Igloo Books, Macmillan and Scholastic, alongside other publishers. Availability of individual titles and stocks may vary during the sale.

Whether the shopping list calls for a new novel, children’s books, educational titles or simply an inexpensive surprise find, SICC will be the place for Sabah readers to dig through the stacks from 30 October to 9 November 2026. π
For the latest updates, check the official Big Bad Wolf Books Kota Kinabalu Facebook post and the on-site terms and conditions before relying on a particular saving, title availability or gold-bar promotion mechanic.
π Opening-weekend tip: SICC is hosting several other events from 30 October to 1 November 2026, including BIGSABAH Sale 2026, so the complex may be busier during the first three days of the book sale. SICC provides 24-hour parking, but parking charges apply. The official SICC events calendar can be checked before travelling.
