Looking for a straightforward way to earn a promotional fixed deposit return without visiting a branch?

CIMB Malaysia’s eFixed Deposit/-i (eFD/-i) September 2026 Campaign is already running, with campaign rates of up to 3.75% p.a. for eligible online placements made from 28 August to 30 September 2026, both dates inclusive. 💹

A minimum single placement of RM1,000 is required, with funding available from an eligible CIMB Current/Savings Account/-i (CASA/-i), Daily Unrestricted Investment Account-i (DURIAN-i) or another bank through FPX, depending on the selected placement route.

  • ⚠️ Before placing: An active CIMB Clicks account and an active eligible CIMB CASA/-i or DURIAN-i maintained with CIMB are required during the campaign period, including when the placement is funded from another bank through FPX.
  • ⚠️ Use the promotional placement route: Enter through CIMB’s official campaign/direct placement links or an eligible eDM when using CIMB Clicks, or use the applicable CIMB OCTO App application route. Check that the promotional campaign rate is displayed before confirming the placement.
  • ⚠️ Check the FPX placement status: CIMB’s FAQ says a status of Failed, Accepted for Processing or Pending Processing means the placement was unsuccessful. CIMB Clicks can be used to check the eFD/eFD-i status; if funds were deducted for an unsuccessful placement, the refund is expected within seven working days from the transaction date.

The current headline rate of 3.75% p.a. is 0.10 percentage point higher than the preceding August 2026 CIMB eFD/-i campaign, which advertised returns of up to 3.65% p.a. CIMB subsequently discontinued that campaign effective 28 August 2026, the same date the September campaign commenced.

Campaign rates at a glance 💰

Check the product and tenor carefully before confirming a placement. The top campaign rate of 3.75% p.a. applies to the 12-month conventional eFD option, while eFD-i (Maturity Returns) carries a 3.60% p.a. campaign rate for the 7-month tenor.

6 months3.60% p.a.RM1,000
7 months3.60% p.a.RM1,000

A dash means no campaign rate is shown for that product-and-tenor combination in the September 2026 campaign table. The campaign covers eFD and eFD-i (Maturity Returns); eFD-i (Monthly Returns) and eFD-i (Why Wait) are excluded.

How much higher are the campaign rates? 📊

Compared with CIMB’s currently published board rates, the September campaign adds between 1.65 and 1.85 percentage points for the eligible product-and-tenor combinations shown below.

How to make an online placement 📱

  1. Open the official CIMB eFD/-i campaign page and choose the suitable promotional route.
  2. For CIMB Clicks Web, enter through the direct promotional link on a CIMB promotion page or through an eligible eDM. The eDM route applies only when the promotional eDM has been received.
  3. For CIMB OCTO App placements, select Apply and choose Fixed Deposit or Fixed Deposit-i – Maturity Returns, depending on the product required.
  4. Select an eligible tenor and enter a single placement of at least RM1,000.
  5. Choose an eligible CIMB CASA/-i, DURIAN-i or FPX transfer from another bank as the funding source, subject to applicable transfer limits.
  6. Review the rate, tenor, maturity instructions and funding account shown on screen before confirming the transaction.

FPX limits, timing and unsuccessful transactions ⏰

For FPX placements, the maximum deposit amount per transaction follows the lower of CIMB’s permitted limit or the limit set by the funding bank. If an eFD/-i placement is unsuccessful after funds have been deducted, the amount is to be refunded to the originating bank account within seven business days from the transaction date. Contact the relevant bank if the refund has not arrived after that period.

CIMB Clicks FPX placement is unavailable daily from 12.00am to 6.00am and remains subject to the funding bank’s internet banking availability. No fee is charged for eFD/eFD-i placement through FPX.

🛈 For FPX placements, a joint account cannot be selected as the crediting option for upliftment or withdrawal; CIMB’s FAQ permits only an account with a single holder for this crediting option.

Who can take part?

The campaign is open to eligible new and existing individual customers, CIMB Group staff including contract and probationary staff, and sole-proprietorship customers aged 18 years or above. An active CIMB Clicks account and an active eligible CIMB CASA/-i or DURIAN-i maintained with CIMB are required during the campaign period.

Who is excluded?

Small and medium enterprise, enterprise banking, commercial and corporate customers are excluded. This may include partnerships, public listed companies, private limited companies, charitable or non-profit organisations, societies and professional partnerships. Individuals below 18 years old are also not eligible.

Important maturity and renewal points 🔎

  • Campaign profit is paid upon maturity of the applicable tenor.
  • Profit may be credited to the designated CASA/-i or DURIAN-i, or added to the principal eFD/-i, according to the selection made during placement.
  • Early upliftment requires a complete withdrawal of the eFD/-i balance. No campaign profit, board-rate profit or staff-rate profit is payable when the placement is withdrawn before maturity.
  • The promotional rate applies for one placement cycle only. Upon maturity, the campaign rate ends and CIMB’s terms provide for automatic renewal or rollover for the same tenor at the prevailing board rate or applicable staff rate at that time.
  • The campaign rates cannot be combined with other offers, promotions or privileges unless CIMB specifies otherwise.
  • eFD/-i deposits are protected by Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia up to RM250,000 for each depositor, subject to applicable PIDM rules.
  • CIMB may vary the campaign period, rates or criteria with notice. A campaign rate variation does not apply to eFD/-i placements made before the effective date of that rate change. An Overnight Policy Rate change may also result in the campaign being extended, shortened, discontinued or having its campaign rates revised with notice.
